PTI April Blog Hop

Our challenge this month is to use the colors in this piece by Megan Carter. We are challenged to use these colors as a springboard for our own ideas.

I used the stencil from Lovely Lace in SU Smoky Slate.  I wish PTI had a medium gray in their arsenal.  I used Bitty Bouquet Stamp set and dies for my flowers and for the sentiment.  I embossed the sentiment in Smoky Slate from SU as well.  The inks were from SU and PTI for the yellow.  The heart frame came from the Sparkle and Shakers kit.  The ribbon is from StampinUp.  I added a little bit of Wink of Stella to the card front and some enamel shapes from SU as well.

This is a takeoff from a card I saw at http://alwaysplayingwithpaper.blogspot.com/2013/06/merry-monday-winners_17.html.  I think that must have been a bigger card, though.

Another Christmas Card

Paper:  Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White
Inks:  Sahara Sand, Gumball Green
Stamps:  Teeny Tiny Wishes, Christmas Lodge
Tools:  Color Spritzer, Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch, sponge daubers
Accessories:  Gumball Green ribbon, Dazzling Details, Snowflake EF, Spellbinders

I probably shouldn't have used the Color Spritzer, but I wanted to try it.  I always seem to have trouble getting the color to go on.  I'm still not sure what I do wrong.  When I watch videos where others use it, they seem to almost do it effortlessly.  I seem to have to pump very hard and still do not get a good spritz.  I do like the dazzling details though.

Christmas in July

Starting my Christmas cards.  Last year I made around 70 cards.  I don't like to  make the same cards and so I will use a basic design and use it for a while and then change to a different stamp and do some more.  For this stamp I changed the ribbon and where I put the sentiment.
Inked the edges after distressing the edges of the Designer Paper.

Paper:  Whisper White, Midnight Muse, Be of Good Cheer DSP
Ink:  Midnight Muse, Cherry Cobbler, Versamark
Ribbon:  Cherry Cobbler Scallop Dots Ribbon
Stamps:  Papertrey Ink and Four Frames SU
Tools1-3/4 Scallop Circle,  Circle punch, Decorative Label Punch, Black and Cherry Cobbler EP, Distress tool

MOJO Monday 227 and Papetrey Ink Anniversary

This is a card I did for both MOJO Monday 227 and Papertrey Ink Anniversary challenge. The challenge was to design a card using the free image download. This is the image from Dawn McVey and use at least one Papertrey item. I used Mat Stack 5 die and collection along with SU circle punch and a nestability die for the center portion. I didn't follow the MOJO sketch exactly. I used Island Indigo and Poppy Parade for the DSP as well as Saraha Sand. The cardstock is Papertrey Ink and Whisper White. The ribbon is Poppy Parade as well. I did a little bit of sponging and distressing as well.

I'm trying to do more scrapbooking this year. This uses the SU Celebrations DSP (retired) and accents (available on clearance). I usedPaper Doll for Every Day and Jubilee welded on the gypsy. Paper is Melon Mambo, Soft Suede, and Pacific Point CS. I don't scrap in order and this is for a picture of grandaughter several years ago.
