PTI Win It Wednesday

PTI has a new challenge called Laurie’s Fabulous Favorites from Laurie Schmidlin.  This week's challenge is to use your favorite stamp set.  I want to use stamps that I have either not used or used very little this year so I chose Stitch in Time by Betsy Veldman with Sentiment Staples Birthday by Lizzie Jones.  I love all of the birthday stamps that have different ways to say happy birthday since I make a lot of birthday cards for our missionaries.  I'm not very good at sponging but I like to try.

I heat embossed the sentiment and then sponged over it.  I added the little flowers from the Stitch in Time set.  I used Winter Wisteria cardstock and ink.  Thanks for looking.

PTI April Blog Hop

Our challenge this month is to use the colors in this piece by Megan Carter. We are challenged to use these colors as a springboard for our own ideas.

I used the stencil from Lovely Lace in SU Smoky Slate.  I wish PTI had a medium gray in their arsenal.  I used Bitty Bouquet Stamp set and dies for my flowers and for the sentiment.  I embossed the sentiment in Smoky Slate from SU as well.  The inks were from SU and PTI for the yellow.  The heart frame came from the Sparkle and Shakers kit.  The ribbon is from StampinUp.  I added a little bit of Wink of Stella to the card front and some enamel shapes from SU as well.

Beautiful Season

Stamps:  Beautiful Season
Ink:  Soft Suede, pastels, Cherry Cobbler, Bashful Blue
Paper:  Retired SU designer paper, Old Olive, Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler
Tools:  Big Shot, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Oval Punch, Small Oval Punch and scalloped Punch SU, Chevron EF SU
Ribbon is retired Old Olive SU

I am not very good at coloring but trying different mediums.  This is the retired Pastels from SU.  I have another one where I colored it using the Blender pen and ink.  I like both.  Once I finish the other card, I will post it as well.

Christmas in July

I usually try to start making my Christmas cards in July.  Here is the first one for this year.  I usually tend towards simple cards that I can make in a hurry since I make about 75 or so cards each year.

Stamps:  Mosaic Madness, Delightful Dozen
Paper:  Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White
Ink:  Gumball Green, Versamark
Tools:  Big Shot, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Mosaic punch, ticket corner punch (retired), Silver embossing folder, 2-way glue
Accessories:  Pearls colored with alcohol markers, Dazzling diamonds

Another Christmas Card

Paper:  Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White
Inks:  Sahara Sand, Gumball Green
Stamps:  Teeny Tiny Wishes, Christmas Lodge
Tools:  Color Spritzer, Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch, sponge daubers
Accessories:  Gumball Green ribbon, Dazzling Details, Snowflake EF, Spellbinders

I probably shouldn't have used the Color Spritzer, but I wanted to try it.  I always seem to have trouble getting the color to go on.  I'm still not sure what I do wrong.  When I watch videos where others use it, they seem to almost do it effortlessly.  I seem to have to pump very hard and still do not get a good spritz.  I do like the dazzling details though.

"Love Card"

This is a card I made with a Sale A Bration stamp set. Uses Peach Parfait and Tempting Turquoise. The Love is heat embossed with Tempting Turquoise EP and then I used markers to fill in the letters and little hearts. I dry embossed the base. I used SC367 sketch for this card.
